One of CPH STAGE’s missions is to frame Danish Performing Arts internationally. The goal is to connect internationally minded people within the performing arts – cultivating dialogue, exchanges, opportunities and collaborations. Therefore we have an international focus on June 1st – 3rd.

SYMPOSIUM: NEEDCOMPANY

NORDIC FOCUS –
INCLUDING PITCH SESSION FOR INTERNATIONALLY ORIENTATED PROJECTS IN THE MAKING
02.06.17: 10 AM – 3PM at The Royal Danish Playhouse
This event will focus on co-production, touring possibilities and residencies within the performing arts in the Nordic countries. The goal is to strengthen artistic collaboration in the Nordic region and international collaborations in general within the performing arts sector.

The day will start off with a presentation of projects and artists with concrete experience from Nordic corporation.
A group of Nordic presenters will discuss the strategies they use when operating and also about what they look for in artists and project. Finally there will be a curated Pitch Session with groups of artists from the Performing Arts scene in Denmark. They will present future projects, pitch new ideas or existing touring pieces.

THE ART OF CREATING TRANSNATIONAL TOURING FLOW

A selection of directors, creative producers, agents and festival managers with different strategies on creating a transnational touring flow in performances will answer the question: How does the patterns in todays transnational touring life look like from their point of view? The main goal is to create awareness on ways to connect performances with audiences in a transnational landscape.

For an example the seminar “Taking part in the arts?” by Dansehallerne on May 31st and the conference LABDANCE – arranged by Mute Comp. Physical Dance Theatre on June 9th – 10th. Have a look in our industry programme here.

HOW WE WORK INTERNATIONALLY

CPH STAGE aims at highlighting Danish performing arts internationally. Our goal is to unite members of international oriented performing arts to promote dialogue, exchanges, opportunities and trans national cooperation. We do that by:

  • Inviting international guests to attend CPH STAGE. Guests with an interest in and opportunity to collaborate with members of the Danish performing arts society.
  • Creating an international programme addressed specifically to the industry with the purpose of strengthening international prospects of collaboration and upgrading the knowledge on what it takes to navigate on the international stage.
  • Telling the stories of CPH STAGE on selected international platforms.
