Yggdrasil Dance presents an art activist performance inspired by indigenous cultures’ views on nature, climate and progress The dance trilogy is an innovative and intercultural collaboration with indigenous people and artists from Greenland, Brazil and Scandinavia. We present the trilogy as an art activist project that will inspire the audience to act and engage in the high-profile climate debate. The aim is to illustrate the consequences of global warming through a series of sensory experiences. Because climate change must not only be understood. It needs to be marked.
We have developed the trilogy as an exchange project with indigenous peoples: Inuit, Kuikuro and Sami, with their traditions and prospects as a source of inspiration.
This intercultural collaboration has resulted in three installations. It’s Siku Aappoq / Melting Ice, Seca / Drought and Cold Tide of Darkness / Flood
Moderator is Rie Hammer from Iscene. The contributors are: Choreographer: Birgitte Bauer-Nilsen. Dancers: Thomas Johansen, Alexander Montgomery-Andersen and Liv Mikaela Sanz.
