JURY’S GUIDANCE

The selection process made us aware of a grand diversity in the Danish performing arts field – in regards to genres, styles, young/established, small work / big work, indoor/outdoor/site-specific, out of the black box/digital and “traditional”. Maybe this shows that the works are personally driven.
The final selection appreciates high quality, different target groups and works that really has a potential to tour internationally: sometimes connected to local urgencies, but always connected to universal topics or awarenesses.
Furthermore all the works show a clear and conscious approach to sustainability on working internationally.

“It has been extraordinary to see the very high level in the applications from the Danish Performing Arts milieu. We notice strong international strategies and a common awareness of both sustrainability and diversity. As well as a high creative capacity. Due to the curatorial framing of 14 works – 6 for the showcase and 8 for the pitching – we have also been forceds to not choose suitable works. We have prioritized a diversity in the selected works – considering genres, gender in artistic leaderships, current relevance as well as ability to navigate in an international arena which is changing profoundly these years – due to the pandemic and sustainability concern. Thank you for an inspiring insight into a flourishing Danish Performing Arts Scene.”
