2020 – Gunilla Lind Danseteater // LOVEU2ND (dance)
”Move over, Kate Moss! So long, Gigi Hadid! There’s a new breed of supermodel dominating the fashion industry – but there’s a bit of a catch!”
The headline above from the magazine Glamour ushers in the entry of a new species into the fashion world. An uncanny, 100% computer animated being. Virtual identities seem both fascinating and repulsive because they are strangely recognizable and at the same time there is something unfamiliar about them.
LOVEU2ND is an abstract room for reflection on virtual identities´ subtile intrusion into our world. Get ready to be seduced. On a shining runway of manipulation dazzling creatures are distorted in each other’s self-images – in a unique mix of modern dance and physical theatre.
DURATION: 50 min.
Gunilla Lind Dance Theatre is a Copenhagen based dance company led by choreographer and artistic director Gunilla Lind.
Gunilla Lind puts a mirror up to society through her thought-provoking works. She creates visual works offering the spectator colour harmonies and surprising shapes. Through experimenting costumes Gunilla Lind de-humanizes the performers in order to challenge the way we perceive other human beings and the way we look at ourselves.
The artistic director, choreographer Gunilla Lind, has been awarded by the official Danish Reumert Award with a talent-price (2018). The Bikuben Foundation has appointed choreographer Gunilla Lind to the foundation’s effort, ARTISTIC PRACTICE that aims to strengthen Danish artists’ opportunity for an international breakthrough (2020).
