The Mermaid Story – with a singing Mermaid
The Mermaid stumbles into the world, longing for love and eternal life. With high ambitions and wilful desire, she tries to become the person she really is as we all do.
The life of the Mermaid is a cruel and amazing journey into human life. There will be blood but also transformation. “You are not born as a woman; you become one,” Simone de Beauvoir said. That is still true.
The Mermaid Story is based on the legendary fairy tale, The Little Mermaid (1837), by the Danish, famous author H.C. Andersen.
As a human being, the Mermaid has lost her voice, but songs will here create a musical interpretation of her story.
