The Water Hen

– by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz (1921),

Theatre performance by 3rd Year graduating students from CISPA (Copenhagen International School of Performing Arts, directed by Andrew Norton (UK).

The Water Hen is a mind-bending saga of murder, suicide, money and the pursuit of meaning in a chaotic world set against a backdrop of violent revolution. Witkiewicz’ riotously funny dreamscape is peopled with a colourful character gallery, including a Femme Fatale, a would-be Artist, a retired Sea Captain, an orphaned Child, a widowed Duchess, a Scoundrel, Businessmen, Detectives, a Russian Nurse, and a mysterious Lamplighter.
