SELECTION FOR CPH STAGE 2020 – INTERNATIONAL DAYS : SHOWCASE + PITCH

DANISH SHOWCASE at CPH STAGE 2020

6 Danish works have been selected by a jury for the International Days at CPH STAGE 2020. These works are selected from an open call because of the jury’s percpetion of their work as high quality, contributing to a diversity in audiences and genres, prospects of the completion of the production and working international. Please note that there are more qualified proposals than the ones the jury has been able to choose because of limited ressources.

Our Aim is to support and empower Danish PERFORMING ARTS in an international framing

Our agenda with the curated international programme is to advocate the Danish Performing Arts on a global scene by using the international days at CPH STAGE to showcase some of the best Danish productions – while creating a meeting place where performing arts professionals from all over the world can begin or continue a conversation. Dialogue and exchaning perspectives is an essential value in Danish culture. 


FACTS:

The Jury: The Jury consists of selected people with a great knowledge on the Danish and International Performing Arts scene. The members of the jury are:

Petra Huisman – Artistic director and producer of performing arts Inkonst, Malmø
Malco Oliveros – Advisor of Internationale Tanzmesse NRW, Düsseldorf
Miriam Frandsen – curator of CPH STAGEs international opening show
Karen Toftegaard – International producer of CPH STAGEs international days

All members of the Jury may announce themselves as disqualified if a conflict of interest arrises. 

Thank you for 34 applications for DANISH SHOWCASE and 28 applications for PITCH. 

The works have been selected based on an Open Call. The primary criterias have been:
• The Jurys perception of high quality. 
• The way the work/project has been presented in the application.
• The work contributes to a diversity in audiences and genres.
• Give space to artists who haven’t already had the possibility to show their artistic praxis at CPH STAGE’s International Days.
• A clear connection to Danish Performing Arts.
• The Jury’s perception of the work’s potential international projection the company’s capacity to lift the work. 
• The Jury has selected a limited amount of works out of several very qualified applications.
