Description
THE SECESSION – a Sci-Fi about the last day of the Danish Realm – a collaboration between Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
THE SECESSION is about the fictional day in 2033 when Greenland and the Faroe Islands secede from Denmark. The performance explores the emotions and situations that arise in the three countries if/when the world’s last colonial power finally decides to let go. We zoom in on people’s dreams, fears and dilemmas and all the way out again, onto the vast expanses in a kind of cinematic magical realism. It is visual and at the same time intimate narrative theatre. A highly topical divorce drama seen from a Faroese, Greenlandic and Danish point of view.
