Bring Me Closer
A choreographic encounter between bodies, intimacy, and distance, immersed in a live DJ club experience.
"Bring Me Closer" is a dance performance that investigates how closeness is learned, desired, resisted, and performed between two male bodies. Through touch, proximity, and hesitation, the work unfolds as an intense yet understated study of how we meet one another within social codes, expectations, and vulnerability.
Set in the symbolic landscape of the nightclub, the performance moves through rhythm, desire, and restraint. At the center is a duet between two people navigating attraction, resistance, and exposure. Questioning norms of masculinity, touch, and emotional openness, the work invites the audience into a space of heightened attention, presence, and shared vulnerability.
How does trust arise between people? How do personal experiences shape the relationships we attempt to create or understand? These questions drive the work’s physical and narrative journey together with a live DJ-set. "Bring Me Closer" is a poetic and political reflection on love, identity, and how we share space, build trust, and dare to let ourselves be seen.
About the Company: Mikkel Alexander
Mikkel Alexander is a Copenhagen-based movement artist working at the intersection of contemporary dance, theatre, and music. His practice is driven by curiosity about human connection and the ways bodies carry emotion, memory, and social codes. He works both as an independent self-producing artist and as a commissioned choreographer and dancer for national and international companies and theatres.
Vasileios Maltampes is a Barcelona-based dancer and teacher, currently as a member of Cia L’Émerveillée. Next to performing in venues such as Mercat de les Flors and the Liceu he is exploring and developing his own artistic research in contemporary creation.
