ACCESSIBILITY AT CPH STAGE
At CPH STAGE, we work actively to make theatre accessible to everyone. The festival engages in a wide range of initiatives and collaborations designed to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy easier access to performances in Denmark. In 2025, we were able to offer audio description and sign language interpretation for selected performances.
THE ACCESSIBILITY SYMBOL
CPH STAGE collaborates with the Disability Council of the City of Copenhagen to improve accessibility at the city’s theatres for people with physical disabilities. For each performance listed on our online programme, we indicate the accessibility level of the venue. You can also check our printed programme to see which theatres carry the accessibility symbol.
Unless otherwise stated, theatres displaying the symbol meet the following criteria:
- Disabled parking spaces
- Step-free access
- Minimum passage width of 80 cm
- Accessible toilet
- Space for wheelchair users in the auditorium
If you are planning to attend a performance and require special assistance, we recommend contacting the theatre directly.
AUDIO DESCRIPTION AT THE ROYAL DANISH THEATRE
CPH STAGE collaborates with the Royal Danish Theatre and the Danish Association of the Blind to provide audio description for selected performances. As always, companions may accompany visually impaired guests free of charge.

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION AT TEATER V
On May 24 2025, CPH STAGE offered sign language interpretation for "Sangen om Oda og Anton" at Teater V.
Before the performance, there was an introduction in sign language, allowing the audience to meet the interpreters. This initiative was made possible with support from the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces.
THEATRE EXPERIENCES FOR LONELY SENIORS
At CPH STAGE, we believe that accessibility can take many forms, and that barriers to attending theatre are not always physical. Therefore, we collaborate with the foundation Ensomme Gamles Værn (Support for Lonely Elderly People) to provide shared, life-affirming theatre experiences for isolated seniors.
SPECIAL DISCOUNTS
We also offer reduced ticket prices for pensioners and young people at performances produced directly by the festival. When we launch the full festival programme, you can see which performances in 2025 will offer these discounts.
FESTIVAL WRISTBAND
Each year, we offer a festival wristband priced at DKK 350, which gives you:
- Free access to all performances not sold out on the day
- The option to pre-book a ticket for one specially selected performance
- Discounts at selected theatre bars
- Daily festival updates on where you can use your wristband
K7 WEEK
CPH STAGE collaborates with ADBC on the nationwide cultural initiative K7 WEEK, which takes place annually during week 37. The initiative invites young people aged 18–25 to the theatre at a heavily reduced ticket price. K7 encourages open, curious encounters with the performing arts and introduces younger audiences to the world of theatre. You can read more about K7 HERE.
