It is said that we live in a culture of perfection, yet in our relentless pursuit of meaning, happiness and success, failure is always lurking just around the corner. Whether we stand alone with all our foolish mistakes or end up dragging others down with us into the depths, we must acknowledge that being human is never entirely without risk.
In this year’s programme, you will encounter a number of fallible characters on stage. They are undone by their longing for a child, they are helplessly awkward in love, and they are driven by ambitions they are utterly unable to fulfil. Some of them fail irreversibly. Others survive with their charm intact. All appear as what they truly are: fully formed human beings.
