Welcome to a hyper-cute world where high speed high fashion clashes with cute couture.
Cuteness calls to you because of its need to be cared for. At the same time, it awakens in us the feeling of cute aggression - a desire to control and destroy the cute. "IT'S SO CUTE I'M GONNA DIE" is a dance performance about the seductive power and possibilities of the cute. About teddy bears, moon boots and mass production.
Ride a wave of cuteness, poppy pastels and a rebellion that lies just below the plush surface when choreographer Gunilla Lind and the team behind the performance take you into a soft utopia where the monster lurks just behind the big, shiny eyes.
In 2024 "IT'S SO CUTE I'M GONNA DIE" received a National Danish Theatre Award (Reumert) in the category, Dance Performance of the Year.
In the award winning dance company, VOMP’s alluring performances our imagination is activated and set free. With beings in oversized shapes, sensuous materials and saturated colors VOMP poses questions about society: What are we exposing our bodies and minds to? And who holds the power? VOMP’s works refer to pop culture - from internet aesthetics to high fashion and MTV. Genres are shuffled and sampled into a physical language that draws from contemporary dance, physical theatre, catwalks, and video games. We are drawn into a new world that it feels almost unbearable not to be able to touch - just for a second!
