TALK: STAGING OVERLOOKED NARRATIVES

CPH STAGE
English
Free

Description

Experience a conversation between the Artistic Director of Nunatta Isiginnaartitsisarfia / The National Theatre of Greenland, Vivi Sørensen; actor Hans-Henrik Suarsaq; and the Artistic Director of the Canadian theatre company Native Earth Performing Arts, Joelle Peters.

Taking the performance “SUERSAQ” as its point of departure, they revisit and highlight Indigenous narratives and worldviews that have so often been suppressed, drawing on the fragments of documentation that remain. How can these remnants be renegotiated through art?

The conversation will be conducted in English and moderated by Associate Professor Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt from the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies.
