10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED AT THE ROYAL DANISH THEATRE

10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED AT THE ROYAL DANISH THEATRE
The festival kicks off the anniversary year with extra confetti by partnering with the Royal Danish Theatre to house the CPH STAGE's festival hub and performances. In addition, the festival has also lifted the veil on two of this year's international performances, which greatly showcase the span of performing arts abroad. It will be possible to experience German master choreographer Sasha Waltz's latest work, IN C, as well as Argentine choreographer Marina Otero's gritty performance FUCK ME.

OPENING PERFORMANCE BY STAR CHOREOGRAPHER
With the performance IN C by Sasha Waltz, the audience is given a unique opportunity to experience one of the great choreographers of the international dance scene. Sasha Waltz has been the leader of some of Germany's most prominent dance companies, and IN C is one of her most recent performances of 2021. It is the composer Terry Riley's iconic work of the same name that forms the setting for the at once minimalist and brightly coloured performance. In addition to the company Sasha Waltz & Guests, a Danish ensemble will also be on stage and accompany the dancers.

The performance will play at the Royal Danish Playhouse on the opening night of the festival on May 31 and June 1. Ticket sales start on February 2, when tickets can be purchased with an early bird discount. Read more here.

INTERNATIONAL AMBITIONS
In addition to Sasha Waltz, the festival has also turned its eyes to South America and the Argentine performance FUCK ME by choreographer and director Marina Otero. A work with five male dancers on stage and the choreographer herself, telling about her life and career. In an explosive and sentimental mix of dance, audio and video, Marina Otero takes us on her brutal journey. The performance is presented in a collaboration between CPH STAGE, TOASTER, ILT Festival and REVOLVER.

The show will play June 1-2 at REVOLVER, and ticket sales will start on February 2, when tickets can be purchased with an early bird discount. Read more here.
