WORK PRESENTATION: FANFICTION OF THE OPERA

The first grease-dripping preparations for the performance “FANFICTION OF THE OPERA”, premiering at SORT/HVID in February 2027, are taking place at Thoravej 29.

In “FANFICTION OF THE OPERA”, fast food and high culture are fused in an immersive McCourt, where Mozart’s operatic canon is put on trial before the court of public opinion. For this work-in-progress showing, Mozart’s operas are reworked into SNUFF, REVENGE, and ALTERNATIVE fanfiction universes. As a test audience, you are invited to join as a co-creator and take part in an exploration of fanfiction, the people’s court, and the afterlife of opera: Who should be judged? Who should be cancelled? And who gets a rewrite, a redemption arc, or an entirely new musical McMozart take?
