How do you transform a chilling novel into living theatre? And why is “Ice" by Anna Kavan so disturbingly relevant today?
“Ice" is an apocalyptic fever dream: a climate catastrophe, a psychological thriller, and an exploration of power and collapse. Now, the Main Library revisits the novel together with its Danish publisher and translator, Lasse Skjold Bertelsen, and playwright Amanda Ginman, who has contributed to adapting the novel’s universe for the performance “ICE NIGHTS" at Sydhavn Teater.
Look forward to a conversation exploring what makes “Ice" a story for our time, the dramaturgical tools used to unfold literature into light, sound, body, and voice, and how an overlooked classic can be revived for a new audience.
“ISNÆTTER" runs from May 10 to May 30, so you may wish to see the performance before attending the talk. Read more here.
The event is free and does not require registration.
