CONTEXT

Mirko's distinctive choreographic lens, shaped by a diverse history of theaters, galleries, and public spaces, brings to the fore a dynamic engagement with today's anthropocentric existential dilemmas. Drawing from his dedication to exploring boundaries—of space, identity, and the intimate-political realm —the work urges audiences to confront, reflect, and reimagine. Mirko's oeuvre is both an emotional and intellectual journey, and with "All That Remains," it finds its poignant resonance. At its heart, this piece is a reflection on our wounded environment, our place within it, and our collective potential to heal, adapt, and transform.

THE COMPANY

Mirko Guido (b. Italy) is a choreographer and dancer currently based in Aarhus, Denmark, where he is an in-house artist at Bora Bora – Dance and Visual Theater. He holds a Master's degree in New Performative Practices from DOCH / Stockholm University of the Arts, and has worked with renowned companies such as Cullberg Ballet. Mirko creates works in theatres, art galleries and public spaces, with each space playing a pivotal role in the conceptualisation of his works.

His works have been presented in several venues across Europe, and he has been supported by residency centres such as Summer Studios Rosas, Work Space Brussels; Uferstudios Berlin; PACT Zollverein; Dansens Hus Stockholm, ARoS Aarhus, among many others.

INTERNATIONAL STRATEGY

"All That Remains" aims at fostering cultural exchanges and dialogue. Based in Denmark, we seek to tap into the universal sentiments of change and transformation that the performance captures. Targeting international festivals, artistic residencies, and theaters, especially in contexts that focus on societal and environmental shifts, our work speaks volumes about adaptation and resilience. Our goal is to collaborate with local artistic entities and people, enriching the performance's texture and expanding its cultural landscape. We aspire to connect with organizers, institutions, and audiences valuing contemporary art's potential to heal and inspire.

FORMAT AND SUSTAINABILITY

As a self-producing artist, sustainability is paramount. Internationally, our approach is twofold: ecological and socio-cultural. Ecologically, we prioritize digital over physical promotions and aim for minimal carbon footprints by bundling tours and optimizing logistics. An important characteristic of this production, is that most of the set materials are sculpture created from waste materials of industrial origin, belonging to recycling production cycles.

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

Mirko Guido is also committed to developing a working methodology that focuses on ethical collaboration and sustainable working processes. The working environment is organized as a co-emergent process in a shared spatial and temporal continuum - the dancers, the choreographer, the dramaturg, the composer, the lighting and set designer co-exist, each contributing to the dialogical process taking place within the shared space. The fundamental aim is to foster a generative and organic working environment, in which the specificities of roles are maintained, but freed from unhealthy and outdated hierarchical power pressures, favoring instead a sense of shared responsibility. This means making sure that everyone feels heard and valued and that we work in a mentally healthy and welcoming manner for all.
